Dear comrades,

I was very saddened to read of the passing away of your general secretary comrade Nina Andreeva . This is a great loss for the Soviet people and international communist movement .

Like many I first heard of Nina Andreeva when she published the famous letter " I cannot give up my principles ' in 1988 . However I also remember her famous speech at Kim Il Sung University in 1992 ' The Cause of Socialism is Invincible ' . I was deeply impressed by her spirited defence of the Democratic People 's Republic of Korea and militant anti-revisionism .

   Nina Andreeva was one of the few communist leaders outside the DPRK that I respected .

Rest In Peace comrade Nina Andreeva .
