Spanish workers protest
On the night of March 8 in Madrid, women went to a traditional rally. Many participants in this action, held in Puerta del Sol, loudly knocked on pots and pans. They were wearing purple (dark red) clothes or carrying purple bags. This color in some countries is a symbol of the international struggle for women's rights.
This traditional rally is in the country one of the means of fighting for equality with men. In Spain, this issue is very acute, since since the dictatorship of Hitler’s ally Franco, the pro-fascist forces have a great influence in the country. The social interests of women are regularly ignored and impaired in all areas of society.
Residents of Spain in recent years, especially fear for their future, since one of the right-wing parties has a good chance of winning the parliamentary elections.
