Overview of the labor movement in the first half of June 2019
In the capital of Komi, a crowded protest was held against the construction of a landfill site.
On June 2, a rally was held in the Michurinsky park of Syktyvkar. Activists opposed the illegal construction of a landfill near the station Shies. Over 7 thousand people gathered at the protest event.
They began to gather at the rally before it began.
In addition to local activists, Svetlana Babenko from Urdoma was invited to the action, which is located near Shies in the Arkhangelsk region. She thanked Komi residents for their support. According to her, it is planned to build a mega-testing ground at the small station Shiyesh, which will contain 2,300 million tons of waste on an area of 3,000 hectares.
- It is very dangerous. It is dangerous because we are on the border with each other. All the impurities that will be formed, they will go on our rivers. All drinking water will be poisoned. Urdoma, Madmas, Komi Republic and the Arkhangelsk region will be the first to suffer damage, ”Babenko said.
She also reported that illegal methods are used against activists in Shiyes: they are beaten, administratively punished, three people are under criminal prosecution. Several activists after a conflict with the guards were admitted to the hospital.
- I appeal to all those present. Let us stand together, 2 regions, to protect the children of our region, ”said the local governor to the inhabitants of Komi.
The rally participants supported the proposal that if construction does not stop at the station Šyes until June 16 and they don’t start taking out the equipment, a permanent strike will be announced in Syktyvkar.
The protesters in the unanimously adopted resolution demanded the cessation of any work on the construction of the landfill in Shies, the immediate introduction of separate waste collection in Komi, and the abolition of the “garbage” reform.

On June 11, 2019, workers, students, retirees, the unemployed, mothers with many children came to protest against the "junk" reform. Rain did not stop them speaking out.
Tamara Kazantseva in her speech noted the ineffectiveness of the sorting of garbage that is being made now.
The participants in the event spoke in favor of the resignation of the head of the regional administration Moore, his deputy Vahrin, and also the head of the city Kukharuk.
At the end of the rally, a resolution was read, which contains the basic requirements for the government, Putin to draw attention to 16 thousand signatures of Tyumen citizens against garbage reform, as well as appeals to the regional authorities on separate collection of waste, increasing benefits for large families.

Miners from the Rostov region decided to defend their rights in Moscow
June 2 in Gukovo again held a picket of local miners. More than 40 people took part in the action. They raised money for a trip to Moscow. In the capital, the workers planned to hold several protests. The miners intend to get to Moscow by hitchhiking, and do part of the way on foot.
Gukovsky miners regularly hold pickets, demanding the payment of arrears of wages and rations. On May 18, participants in the picket in Gukovo were unhappy with the measures taken to pay off debts.
“When, after meeting with the Minister of Energy and Industry of the Rostov Region, I came out and said that there would no longer be any assistance in obtaining humanitarian coal, many simply wept. For people, the problem is to buy coal for the winter,” one of the activists said.

Picket in Krasnodar
In the capital of Kuban, over 100 people came out on June 12 for a picket demanding to preserve the trolleybus line on Krasnaya Street.
The action took place on the central site of the Chistyakovskaya grove. The protesters came to the picket with the slogans: "The line was built by the front-line soldiers for posterity. They destroy for whom?", "We demand to return the trolleybus to Krasnaya", "" There is no trolleybus, that means there are no benefits. "
Ukraine hosted another miners' strike
In Lviv, on June 6, workers at the Mezhirichanskaya mine refused to descend into the face, demanding the immediate payment of their earnings. The decision to strike was taken at a general meeting with the participation of the administration, trade unions and the labor collective.
Miners are not paid since March. The main cause of problems is corruption schemes. The miners reported that nothing had been invested in the coal industry since Soviet times.
Mining strikes in Ukraine occur regularly. Before the presidential election, the debt was paid, but after it the delays began again.
Abroad
In France, the police used tear gas and water cannons against the "yellow vests"
Many thousands of workers, students, the unemployed, representatives of the petty bourgeoisie came to the next protest on June 8. In Paris and the suburbs, the events were relatively quiet, but in some cities it was not without collisions with the police.
At least 4 thousand “Yellow vests” took to the demonstration in the city of Montpellier in the south of France. The police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the demonstration. As a result of clashes with the police, two people were injured.
In the city of Dijon in eastern France, the streets saw over 700 people. The police used tear gas. In this case, 13 protesters were detained.
Since November 17, 2018, the Yellow Vests are coming out to protest actions, demanding to stop the rise in prices for automotive fuel. December 4, Prime Minister Edward Philip announced a six-month moratorium on raising taxes on fuel, but on December 8, people again went to the demonstration. Now they are in favor of the resignation of the president and the government.

Polish doctors have taken part in a protest of many thousands
On June 1, a demonstration of health workers from different regions of the country took place in Warsaw. Workers took to the streets to draw the attention of the government to the tragedy of the health care system.
According to those gathered at the walls of the relevant ministry, the authorities forgot about the promise to increase funding for the industry by 6.8 percent.
About how bad everything is, statistics says. Life expectancy in Poland has ceased to grow. In the period 2014–2017, it increased by only 0.2 years, which is the worst result in the last 26 years. The average Pole today lives to 74 years, and the Polish to 81.8 years.
Not better things with the availability of medical care. The average waiting time for a visit to a doctor in Poland from 2013 to 2019 has doubled to 4-5 months. Moreover, the record for physicians of some specialties borders on the impossible: consultations of the Polish endocrinologist will have to wait 24 months, and a pediatric cardiologist - 12 months!
One of the reasons for this state of affairs is a shortage of personnel. Due to the radical reduction of places in educational institutions in the country, the nursing staff is sorely lacking. Those who could get an education, prefer to work abroad. The average age of a Polish nurse today is 50 years, and some doctors are 60 years old.

In the capital of Poland held a picket in defense of the dismissed trade union activists
On June 4, in Warsaw, an action took place at the office of one of the enterprises, organized by the All-Polish Trade Union Agreement. The authorities illegally fired an activist Anne Bachi. The woman lost her job on April 10, right after the authorities became aware of her trade union activities.
"According to our assessment, the dismissal of an activist is illegal, and his disciplinary nature is no more than a pretext ... The company blatantly violates the law on trade unions and deprives workers of the Constitution’s right to unite to protect their interests," the statement of the Confederation of Labor says All-Polish trade union agreement.
It should be noted that this picket is not the first protest action of employees and trade unions on the above reason. In April and May there were demonstrations in support of the dismissed Anna Bachi. Then dozens of people held banners with slogans in their hands: “Stop repressions for trade union activities!” And “We are in solidarity with Anya!”. The protesters tried to get into the office of the enterprise and hand the petition to the board demanding an end to lawlessness. Police officers who arrived at the scene detained three people who refused to leave the building on their own.
