Days of Environmental Disaster

June 5 was World Environment Day. On the same day in the Russian Federation celebrate "Day of the ecologist." Celebrating the “holiday” this year is completely joyless: an environmental disaster occurred in Taimyr. About 20 thousand tons of oil products spilled into the Taimyr rivers. A federal emergency has been declared. Damage is tentatively estimated at tens of billions of rubles. Northern nature has suffered tremendous damage.

“Opposition liberal” media, which usually briskly pick up any negative reason to criticize the “Putin authorities” once again, are now sparingly covering the issue. And this is not surprising: it’s not some “state corporations” that the “liberals” like to blame for the crash, but the largest private company “Norilsk Nickel”, which is owned by the oligarch “from the nineties” V. Potanin.

According to the main version, the spill of oil products occurred due to violations of storage rules. Simply put, storage tanks built back in Soviet times - in the 70-80s -  leaked and erupted.

Direct damage to the country is enormous, and indirect can be even greater: the leadership of the Russian Federation made plans for oil and gas production in the Arctic, but now the competitors of the Russian side have received an additional trump card in their arguments, urging not to let the Russians into this sphere or to let them discriminate only " junior partners. "

The Russian “effective private owners” turned out to be completely ineffective. They could only seize socialist property, pump out resources from the Russian bowels and fill their pockets, not caring either for development, for basic updating of infrastructure, or for environmental protection.

Capitalism is killing. It kills people, nature, our country.
