STATEMENT by the Central Committee of the AUCPB in connection with the DPRK-USA summit

On June 12, 2018, the Chairman of the State Council of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong-Un and President of the United States of America Donald Trump met on Sentosa Island in Singapore. For the first time in the history of the two countries, talks were held, which culminated in the signing of the Joint Statement.

Focus on this event was drawn to the attention of all mankind, since the situation on the Korean Peninsula is depended on not only by Northeast Asia, but also by our planet as a whole, because the world's largest nuclear powers are directly or indirectly involved in the conflict.

This year, the DPRK will celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Victory of the Korean people in the Fatherland Liberation War of 1950-1953 over the American imperialists and their satellites. Defeated, the United States was forced to sign a truce with the DPRK, but then during the past six and a half decades they all the time tried to carry out revenge and destroy the rebellious socialist state in the north of the Korean state. The threats of a new military invasion along with the South Korean puppets and the application of a preventive nuclear strike, the constant policy of economic sanctions aimed at strangling the DPRK and isolating the republic from other countries of the world community were in the course of action. However, under the leadership of the  Workers' Party of Korea, led first by Kim Il Sung and then by Kim Jong Il, the Korean people stood firm and built a socialist state - the DPRK, while creating a powerful defensive potential. With Kim Jong Un, successful launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear warheads to anywhere in the United States were conducted. Thus, the American imperialists faced an imminent strike of retaliation in the event of their attack on the DPRK.

Realizing that with the help of military force it will not be possible to put the DPRK on its knees, the US imperialists decided to apply another tactic that has been tested for a long time in different parts of the globe - this is cunning flattery and insolent deceit.

For example, they managed to mislead Gorbachev and the leadership of the USSR by promising not to advance the NATO military structures to the western borders of the Soviet Union (currently the Russian Federation, the successor state of the USSR) in exchange for agreeing to annex the territory of the GDR to Germany, eliminating the first German socialist state. The whole world community witnesses this deception. As you know, more recently NATO troops, the backbone of which is still made up of US servicemen, conducted military exercises in the Baltic countries near the borders of Russia.

The US does not differ in the fulfillment of its obligations at the present time. In May this year, Donald Trump announced the US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement with Iran, which even outraged its Western European allies. Of course, the matter here is not so much in Trump, although his unpredictability also exerts its influence on events, but the matter is in the very nature of the entire world imperialist system, the main vices of which were revealed by V.I. Lenin. Imperialism brings to the extreme limits the contradiction between labour and capital, between the various imperialist powers and dependent countries. The continuing general crisis of world imperialism sharpens the contradictions between the imperialist countries for markets, sources of raw materials, for the seizure of foreign territories, for world domination, which leads to an increase in militarism and wars not only local but also capable of escalating into a world war. As long as imperialism exists, the danger of a Third World War remains.

Donald Trump is a protege of Ziono-American big capital, whose goal is to maximize profits through the establishment of world domination. All decisions and actions of any American president have always been determined, are currently being determined and will continue to be determined by the interests of these major imperialist circles in the United States. As we know from history, the imperialists never abhorred any means, including frank deception, to achieve their goals.

In addition, one of the reasons for Trump's transition from direct insults and threats to Comrade Kim Jong-Un to complaisant-flattering rhetoric, in our opinion, is the situation in America itself. Trump wants to raise his rating as a successful figure in foreign policy on the eve of the upcoming election campaign for the US Congress (reelection of 1/3 of the Senate and full House of Representatives in early November 2018). The further fate of Trump depends on the results of this election - the possibility of his impeachment or re-election for a second presidential term. Therefore, changing the tactics of Trump's behavior towards Kim Jong-Un does not mean that the American president wants peace and prosperity for Socialist Korea. Rather, on the contrary: it fulfills the order of the Ziono-American circles to destroy the Korean socialist state and establish domination on the entire Korean peninsula.

Therefore, the policy of the DPRK leadership, conducted so far - the policy of betting on military force, and more recently on nuclear missile weapons - fully justified itself. Only possession of a powerful nuclear potential at the present time is the guarantee of the security and independence of Socialist Korea. Such a situation is well described in the fable "The Wolf on the Kennels" the great Russian fabulist IA. Krylov:

"Here the trapper interrupted in return,"
You're gray, and I, my friend, are gray,
And I know your wolf nature a long time ago;
Therefore, my custom:
With the wolves, otherwise not make peace,

The Central Committee of the AUCPB, having considered the aspects of the DPRK-US summit and the Joint Statement signed in it, expressed in the official documents published today, expresses its extreme concern over the signing of the above-mentioned document and the following future negotiations between the DPRK and the US.

We call on the leadership of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to be vigilant: to prevent the consent to nuclear disarmament of your state, not to repeat the sad destiny of Libya, which, under the pressure of the Western imperialist states, rejected nuclear weapons. In practice,  Trump's political statements is such that, having given his word today, Trump will calmly reject his position tomorrow.
