Militia Yevgeny Shcherbak, handed over by the Russian authorities to Kazakhstan, sentenced to 4.5 years in prison

Donbass militia Evgeni Shcherbak, extradited from Russia to Kazakhstan, was convicted in his homeland. He received 4.5 years in prison. And this verdict is still considered mild, since an experienced lawyer participated in the case of the defender of Donbass, whose services were paid by State Duma deputy Sergei Shargunov. If not for him, Eugene could get all nine years in prison.

A 37-year-old citizen of Kazakhstan, Yevgeny Shcherbak, has fought in the Donbass since 2014 as part of the Sparta battalion (commander Arsen Pavlov, Motorola), was wounded, and has military awards. After he moved to Russia, where he worked as a taxi driver. The man was detained on September 4, 2018 at the Ring Road of St. Petersburg. The police stopped his car, while checking the base it turned out that he was wanted in Kazakhstan under Article 172 of the country's criminal code, as a participant in the hostilities in the territory of another state. Since then, the bureaucratic and judicial trials of the militia began, which ultimately resulted in extradition to Kazakhstan.

Shcherbak was denied asylum in Russia, despite his requests.

Volunteer Goran Chirić is currently under threat of extradition from Serbia. The Serb has been held in the Rostov pre-trial detention center for more than six months now. The defender of Donbass was detained at the request of Interpol on the border of the DPR and Russia in 2019. Serbia in the same year demanded his extradition because of the allegedly committed crime - “abuse of the position of an official”, which follows from the request of the Serbian side. However, colleagues and residents of Donbass who are not indifferent to the fate of the Serb are convinced that the criminal case is just an excuse to extradite the militia to their homeland and condemn them for participating in the war. Goran Chirich lodges petitions with the Russian courts, however, meanwhile his requests stumble upon a refusal.
