August 15, the DPRK celebrates National Liberation Day

The struggle of the Korean people with the Japanese regular military units during the occupation of Korea lasted almost half a century, was very difficult and unequal. The Japanese army was well supplied with both provisions and all the necessary military equipment. Partisan detachments created by the Great Leader, Comrade Kim Il Sung, and led by him, obtained weapons for themselves in armed attacks on Japanese military units, and the guerrillas were supplied by local residents who fully supported the partisan detachment.

The best military fort, on which the KPRA (the Korean People's Revolutionary Army) relied in its struggle against the Japanese, was the region of the mountains of Paektu. It represented an unassailable fortress, created by nature itself, favorable for the defense of the revolutionary army and unfavorable for enemy attacks. This area of Korea was also characterized by strong anti-Japanese sentiments of the population. The Paektusan partisan camp was a reliable mass base of the revolution. From here Kim Il Sung organized raid operations on the territory of Korea by large forces.

In December 1938, in an unprecedented frost, practically without food, sleep and rest, leaving the encirclement, the KPRA fighters had to make a forced march that lasted 100 days. This campaign, carried out under the command of Kim Il Sung, entered the history of the anti-Japanese struggle under the name "Arduous March".

August 8, 1945 the Soviet Union, fulfilling the commitments adopted at the Tehran and Yalta conferences, announced the state of war with Japan. On the night of August 8 to August 1.5 million, the Soviet (Red) army dealt a crushing blow to Japan's land forces.

On August 9, commander Kim Il Sung ordered all the detachments of the KNRA to order a general offensive. Detachments of the KPRA fought against the opposing individual groups of the Kwantung Army. As a result, the 1 million Kwantung Army was completely defeated. On August 14, a meeting of the government and the high command of the army and navy was convened in the bomb shelter of the emperor of Japan, in which, contrary to military opposition, the emperor proposed the draft of his rescript on the unconditional surrender of the Japanese armed forces on the terms of the Potsdam Declaration.

Day of August 15 in Korea was celebrated as the National Liberation Day.

Liberation from the Japanese yoke became the starting event in the formation of the socialist state in 1948.

Created by the Great Leader, Comrade Kim Il Sung, the DPRK today is a developed self-sufficient state, equipped for its defense and defense with its own nuclear weapons.

Despite constant encroachments by the imperialist US on the independence and very existence of the DPRK, the people of the country are confidently looking to the future, celebrating on September 9 the 70th anniversary of the formation of their socialist state.

Congratulating the people of the DPRK on the 73rd anniversary of National Independence, we wish successes in defending your borders from the mad imperialist United States, which can not in any way reconcile itself to the very fact of the existence of a socialist state in northeast Asia.

We believe in the victory of the Korean working people under the leadership of their leader, Comrade Kim Jong-un.

We wish our Korean friends to continue bearing high the victorious banner of the Juche idea in the storming of the heights of the construction of a prosperous socialist state.
